Welcome to the Crown Casino
The Crown Casino Game is based at the Amber end of the Helgram Game universe. Characters are relatively-young Amberites. The span of the first series of books is from 4,445 to 4,471 AP (after the drawing of the Pattern). It is currently early-4,500 AP.
The majority of the characters will have been brought together either during Gérard’s Regency, which lasted from 4,468 AP to 4,485 AP, most likely during the earlier part of that period, when the Amber Family were working on their plans to attack Chaos; or after Random’s Official Coronation in Amber in 4,485 AP.
There are two main exceptions:
Children of Bleys, as he was presumed dead during the period between falling off Kolvir during the attack with Corwin, and when he turned up again at the battle before the Gates of Chaos. Therefore, children of Bleys will probably have been brought to Amber either for Random’s Coronation (4,485 AP, which Bleys attended while still Grand Duke of Helgram) or after Bleys returned permanently from his sojourn in Chaos in 4,489 AP.
Children of Caine, as he staged his death during Corwin’s brief reign, and was presumed dead when the Elders were staging to go to Chaos. Caine’s children can have been brought to Amber either in the early years of the Patternfall War (from Eric’s Coronation in 4,458 until his death in 4,466), or after Random’s Official Coronation, but probably not during either Corwin’s or Gerard’s Regencies.
They are now working for King Random at his “hobby”, the Crown Casino and Hotel, which was founded in 4,490 AP.

Background and Setting
The first series happened as written, ending with the War Between the Powers, the death of King Oberon, and the accession of King Random. In the years that immediately followed, Amber occupied the Courts until a peace could be brokered between them. This was achieved about three years later, and was made possible because, much to everyone’s surprise, King Swayvill and King Random get along very well. This détente means that links between Thelbane and Amber are now at the closest they’ve ever been since Dworkin Barimen drew the Pattern.
Caine is alive and working as Head of Amber Intelligence, although he and his brother Julian are not been as comfortable with the links that have been revealed with Chaos as many of their siblings. Both of them held far more hardline anti-Courts views in the lead-up to the war, and were known to act upon them. Moreover, a recent incident in House Helgram, after which Random forced Caine to apologise, has led to tensions between Monarch and Spymaster.
As far as anyone knows, Brand and Deirdre are dead, having fallen into the Abyss at the end of the War.
